Mylo COM-2 1.201 Firmware Update
Sony has released a firmware update to the sleek Mylo COM-2, enabling a few new features while improving the removable storage capacity. Seems like Sony has truly favored the second iteration of this device as the first was rather limited in functionality and had underwhelming firmware updates. Should Sony build a more scalable Mylo or should we be expecting a COM-3 in a couple of quarters? Perhaps the device isn’t popular enough yet to have a true financial investment in functionality. The nearly 60MB update includes the following:
- Adds support for video recording
- Adds a new menu option for easier photo and video uploading
- Provides a “Optimize” option in Task Manager for system memory
- Adds a function to format Memory Stick Duo™ media
- Adds the ability to display thumbnail images in the Game menu
- Adds support for 16GB Memory Stick Duo™ media
- Improves Flash playback of YouTube® videos

I’m not so happy with the update. Now my mylo 2 cannot play back youtube videos.
What appears is a red X mark on the upper left hand corner of a blank screen where
the video should be. What’s going on? I should be happy because now I could upload
youtube videos, but where are the videos to upload? Please help.

Yes indeed, apparently that link states:
It appears that the 1.201 firmware update is not the cause of the issue with YouTube videos. The information I’ve been given shows that YouTube made some changes to the settings of their Flash player which made the version of Flash Lite installed on the mylo incompatible on all firmware versions. The timing of the 1.201 firmware release and the subsequent change by YouTube are just an unfortunate coincidence.
Please feel free to update your mylo to the new firmware to take advantage of the other new features while the firmware development team investigates a resolution.
Hey, my head’s reeling: I just got news of sony’s location-free tv! Is there any ghost of a chance of location-free tv being integrated into the mylo 2 in one of the near-future updates? Say it is possible, please, please, please!!!! Humor me!!!
I need help every time i down load the new version and it wont let me put it on the mylo it says it a email or something

Mylo is good but Sony fails to give us continuous costumer support we need, most users complain is the lack of firmware update to their mylo device.
