Sony Launches 8GB Memory Stick Micro (M2)

Sony today announced the launch of its all new 8GB Memory Stick Micro. The 8GB card effectively doubles the current maximum capacity of the companies Memory Stick Micro range. (8GB M2 cards had previously only been available from Sandisk). Typically used in mobile devices such as mobile phones and pda’s, the new card will hold approximately 5000 high quality 5 megapixel photos or over 2000 music tracks (assuming an individual track length of 4 minutes at 128kbps).

The new card will be part of a special promotion also including 2GB and 4GB Memory Stick Micro products. Over the Summer Holidays, customers will be entitled to a free WAP download of the full version of Gameloft’s top-selling Brain Challenge 2.

    Hi Yoni, thnks for the heads-up, I thought the 8GB M2 cards were only previously available from Sandisk, and that the announcement here simply refers to the new addition to the Sony lineup. I have edited the text slightly to reflect this.
