I brought my DSCt70 camera in Australia in 2007, now i have the same issue as other my friends have, it start vibrating on power up and not able take any pics….please suggest some way to get out this problem.

Hi i have a sony T-20 camera (made in Japan) and also encountering the same problem of vibrating screen.
Sony should repair it freely, otherwise I may force to start a online campaign agaist Sony cameras. Pls contact me – clskuwait(at)gmail(.)com

Same with my T-70
Its worth the risk to fix it yourself because the minimum cost sony is telling me is $141 just to look at it plus shipping (otherwise I’d just throw it off a cliff in frustration…)
take your time and use the right tools:
its the vibration canceling unit, i had the same problem.
if you have good hads you can fix it.(at your own risk)
1) disasamble the camera, you will see black plastic box inside, this is he lens unit.
2) on the botom you see 2 scrwes, they are holding the CCD remove them and the ccd unit will come from the lens assembly
3) the next is the stabilizer unit it is the problematic one. it is located on the left side of the lens asebly and is held by 2 screws.
you can test it by puling out the cable connected to it (the conector is just under the lens) and verifign that the problem is solved. ( you can leave it this way it will shoot fine just without the anti shake)
4) to fix it take it out ,remove the plastic cover, you see the lens on a plastic mount it should be glued to the magnet under it. the problem is that the glue fals apart.
remove one of the pins on wich it slides, and take the lens and the magnet out.
5) reglue the magnet and reasemble the camera.
6) power up and test, for me that solved the problem

my T-300 vibrates i can not take picture,now .i have brought it from india. i will contact sony auth service center. let see what they say.

The same vibration issue with my DSC-T20 but I was not able to see the free period repair not until today. The waranty is also over and there is no repair center over here in Saipan. Would sony still recall this or repair without charges?

my T300 too. this camera made me lose trust in sony…. i won’t spend so much money to repair this lousy camera. they should give us free repair.

Hi, I have Sony Cybershot Camera of model DSC – T 20. But, I have purchased it from U.A.E. I live in India. I also experience same problem as mentioned above like vibration during only camera is switched ON. Its serial number is 2311323. I purchased it on 22/05/2007.
Tell me solution to overcome.

Their are so many of us who is haveing trouble with the sony camera, why dont we send them to one address (say mine if you like ) or someone who is prepared to pack all the cameras up and send them back to sony with our names and addresses, lets face it they are useless as they are and maybe if we send enough of them back to sony we might get a result now whoever decides to take this task on should email back to the owner of the camera when he get it just to keep a record of the cameras what do you thin guys .
