Sony eReader coming to the UK
News of Sony eReader UK pre-orders are hitting the web, so we wanted to rejoice with our European brothers and sisters who have been looking forward to the day when Sony Reader hits the shores of Europe. No more need to import this delicate device from the US, and we are sure that eBooks in Europe should do pretty well as the number of book worms in Europe seems be larger. Check out the Sony Reader forum buzz that is happening at the moment.

Great………….about time. I hope we won’t have to pay a ‘Geographical related premium”.
From what I understand Anthony, the Reader will be retailing for £199 in the UK. A little bit more expensive if you do a straight currency conversion on the $299 it retails for in the US, but if you factor in shipping charges etc.. the cost of importing one will now work out about the same.
If one import one from the US, will one have problems getting content in the UK from Waterstones once the eReader is registered online? Or do we not have to use Sony’s website for downloads?
US eReaders only allows one to purchase ebooks from Sony’s eReader website if one has
a US credit card.
