VAIO Canvas VGF-CP1 Digital Frame

Well, looky looky here! I was just lamenting the fact in my post that it would be so nice to have VAIO VGF-CP1 on my desk and lo and behold Sony listened to my cries and brought this awesome gadget to the States. Let’s get into the details of its attractiveness:

First of all it is a Wi-Fi enabled frame that makes it so much better from the current DPF series frames Sony is offering at the present time. Once it is online and connected to your wireless network at home, you are able to stream your multitudes of pictures stored on your PC; another attractive feature is its capability to connect to Google™ Picasa™ web albums. This enables you to view up to four web albums simultaneously, as well as upload photos directly to a Picasa account.

RSS support is also built in to the frame as well as Web Radio to give your slide shows some melody.

Some tech specs: it features a 7-inch 800 x 480 resolution display, 128MB (!!that’s it??) of internal storage space, an SD / Memory Stick / CF multicard reader.

Is it really that surprising they only included 128mb of storage space? Not really, as I would assume 75% of people who use these probably are plugging in their memory cards from their point and shoot cameras anyways. And why picasa? Flickr is much better!

I guess for me, I would love to have more storage available on a Digiframe locally, so that I would unload my pictures into the frame, organize them there and have my MS space ready for more shots. So using the frame in a way of a photo vault.
