Obviously those are not so high end X1s, because of the way they are coloured and physical appearance

I had an X1 for 2 weeks in 2008 before it showed extensive cracking. This was as a result of me beating it to death against my car's gearstick after the bluetooth randomly turned itself off again while I was on a call on my car's handsfree kit.

Not to mention the GPRS connection randomly refusing to work, the 7-hour battery life, the GPS also refusing to work when it felt like it, random total hanging of the OS, dreadful audio quality in calls, terrible camera quality compared to my SE K800i, poor GSM signal reception, and having to reboot several times a day to fix these problems. SonyEricsson inspected the phone (twice) and said it was "within spec".

It doesn't surprise me to hear of this new problem, because the X1 is by far the worst phone of the 12 I've owned so far. My current phone? My trusty 5 year-old SE K800i which is the best phone I've ever had and will not be replaced until it actually stops working, and then only with another K800i.

Guess the problem doesn't occur much any more, I had my X1 in my pants pocket and slipped on evil Swedish ice, hit the ground really bad and actually slided away for a bit... my pants look like hell all shredded in a jagged rectangular-ish shape (you guessed it, that damn expensive almost brand new phone was what I landed on! I'm a fat bastard too!) the phone just lost a fragment of paint in the corner and when I pulled it out I almost had a panic attack before my trembling finger hit the button but it worked just fine. That is one tough damn phone.

i have bought the x1 silver phone just a week ago on 20 th nov 2009 and it get cracked in just 2nd day of usege. it is cracked at volume controle side. here all have the same problem with x1. it is still craking whatever the production batch. my phone is of 09w35 batch. i think it is due to low quality plastic use. which do not tollrate the heat genereted by processor . plastic expand on heating so the cracked. it may be case designing fault. because lots of x1 user have similar crack at similar positon.
the main point where xi cracke is
1. near the volume controle
2. inside battry compartment
3. near the stylus.
do not take easy it is the quality issue of sony erricsson. go to the seller or service center and demand new with further assurense or try to get your purchaging price. because if u get new one then that will also crack at the same place and u cant do anything except seeing the crak. afterall one year is in run and sonyericsson do nothinf for it.. in my word phone is the best on performense but worst in hardware quality..
with regards
ravi india
sun_25online@yahoo.co.in
