Exclusive X-Series Walkman Pictorial, Review From Le Journal du Geek

imgp0113

To the delight of myself and hopefully some of you guys, Le Journal du Geek has posted some thoughts and great pictures of the new X-Series Walkman. The NWZ-X1000 is a Walkman we initially announced to the world and many consider it Sony’s best offering in the mp3/etc flash player market to date. Hopefully future updates that could enable downloadable minigames, movies and music from a Sony online store would make it even more rewarding to own in the future. This thing needs access to Sony’s media, now.

Here are some more pictures from Le Journal du Geek:

Umm did you ever ask Sony if they could allow access to the Playstation video store via Wi-fi or through the Playstation 3 or PC to download and sync movies??

I asked you to ask that question when you were covering this Walkman during the electronics show. since you have more success communicating with the folks at Sony I thought you might have.

    Looks sweet!

I do find it strange, however, that as Stringer was talking about synergy between departments at Sony, they announce this – but not that it would be able to access the PS Video Store or, a new music store. I agree with you Chris – Sony really needs to provide a content solution for this device as well.

(P.S. I finally gave in and bought an iPhone – I miss Sony sound quality but the iPhone is truly unmatched).

Thanks for that! I really needed something to keep me focused on buying the walkman touch rather than being tempted by the current latest walkman.

    tiny display
    poor resolution
    boxy design
boring GUI…(from whatever I see on pics and videos)

I am not planning to buy this….though digital noise cancel, OLED are tempting…

    Hi,

Have been an avid sony walkman fan for as long as i can remember…..neway the touch sony walkman took a long time coming. However from a strictly walkman lover’s point of view I feel that sony should consider the following aspects and its products will always remain at the top. There is absolutely no necessity to compare with Iphone or ipod(for that matter any mp3 players out there).
    1)Great codecs
2)Removal of all proprietary hardware and software
    3)Innovative audio quality enhancing capabilities
    4)Better battery life.
5)Great online Sony store where stuffs are cheap.

Sony survives coz of the audiophiles ,who dont mind paying a premium for the audio quality alone. So if the audiophiles get what they want sony will always sell their walkmans….no matter ipods come or ipods go…..

    Cheers,

    D.
