It's very horrible for the employees of the Sony Pictures Entertainment. To meet the needs of public, the entertainment industries need huge workforce that results in enormous employment opportunity for lots of people. Vivid demands of public have lead to the creation of numerous entertainment jobs that are getting bread and butter for thousands of people. But when it comes to Cutting jobs it also effect the entertainment industry.

This is a small token to show SONY that they are towing the line on expense cuts. The reality is that SPE made a profit last year - the only division to do so within SONY's stable. 300 positions in an organization of 7,000-8,000 employees is minimal. At best, the directive will be used to thin out the heard and get rid of dead wood that would normally be fired, but easier to let go via a "layoff". Chances are, if you were let go, you were an underperformer. If someone you know is let go, then he/she probably deserved it and you'll find reason why it was them and not you.

This says nothing about the stability of Sony Pictures Entertainment or their movies.

Michael and Amy are doing a great job leading this fine organization through some tough times.

Kudos to them!!

My wife works for SPE and she got an email from her boss stating specifically that their department didn't need to worry. I just tell her SPE should make more quality movies!
