New XPERIA X2 Leaked Pictures Look Very Real
I’m not a complete expert on product leaks or anything (ha), but in my experience of seeing past leaked products these pictures from jjlifeblog of the upcoming XPERIA X2 look very credible to me. The stats alongside the slick design of the device are impressive, but it will all be somewhat meaningless if the X2 doesn’t pick up a carrier in the USA like the X1. The XPERIA X2 will apparently run on Windows Mobile 6.5 (Professional), and rumored specs include (thanks BGR):
- * 8.1mpx auto focus, VGA @ 30fps (MP4 HQ)
- 3.5-inch WVGA OLED (increased from 3.0 from X1)
- GPS, aGPS
- 3.5 mm headphone jack
- Accelerometer
- Faster processor
- 512mb RAM
- Custom Windows Mobile 6.5 (SE engineers customized Win6.5 which runs very. very speedy. in par with iPhone and better in some cases)
- XPERIA Panels are modified with plenty of innovative features (PS3 remote play being one of them)
- Upgrading to Windows Mobile 7 is supported by Xperia panels
We also assume it will probably have MicroSD. Looks nice. No release date in sight, though, but it must be relatively close.
Looks good apart from the keyboard, the OLED is a bonus and a great screen, not sure on the 'Faster processor' since the CPU on the screen is the old one from the current xperia. still waiting on nokia and their new touchscreens, whenever that will be.
This is not exactly the “open system” that Stringer was talking about….
true, android phones are probably due later this year or early next since sony wants to wait for new android OS, but then the X2 design process probably began sometime ago before the open platform idea was put into motion.
I'd personally wait for the SE Aino and Satio and compare them to the X1 and X2 if it comes out soon as well.
this is one of the UGLIEST flagship product from SONY along with the new PSP Go, what is going on at SONY is beyond me, one of the few things SONY can actually brag about is design, but judging by this phone, PSP Go, and even NW-X, I'd say, better leave SONY, and return it back to the glory “Asian Pride” MODE, otherwise, it will be like any other crappy cheap CE companies like all of them: Samsung, LG, Sharp to name a few.
the other thing is SE dropping Memorty Stick, isn't this a little too late for that now? but on the other hand, it HURTS hardcore SONY consumers BIG TIME, I hate that I cannot simply put the M2 card from my other SE phones directly into my X1, and I can't share things easily between among my Phones, PSP, CyberShot and HandyCam like I used. THIS IS SO FREAKING ANNOYING.

ps, no I'm not Japanese, so this isn't a racist remark, simply stating the truth, it was HIM canceled Qrio and my beloved Qualia, need I say more???!!!!
I read that the release date is for Q2010 and that it will come with the snapdragon CPU, similar to what toshiba is using here

Take the snapdragon info with a grain of salt seeing as the CPU on the screen is not the snapdragon. So we will see what sony does.
