Sony Will Replace Certain NWZ-W202 Models Due To Moisture Issues

w202

Sony makes every effort to ensure that our products not only meet their own strict quality standards, but also support a positive customer experience. A limited number of NWZ-W202 headphone-style Walkman players may experience performance issues following exposure to sweat or other liquids. Sony Insider originally wrote about this W202 sweat issue a week ago after reading numerous comments around the Internet of users complaining about units malfunctioning during workouts.

Sony takes all customer feedback seriously, and have implemented additional safeguards to promote sweat and moisture resistance. They are confident that these measures will ensure that all NWZ-W202 Walkman players support increased customer satisfaction and meet their high quality standards.

Most customers who have purchased an NWZ-W202 Walkman player are unlikely to experience problems. We have determined that this only occurs in a limited number of NWZ-W202 players within a certain serial number range. If you have an NWZ-W202 Walkman player, and feel your player has been affected, please see Sony’s eSupport site where you can enter in your 7 digit serial number and see if your affected by this issue. Sony will replace, free of charge, Walkman players for customers who have players within the potentially affected serial number range.

juz dlete or format ur songs……n again fill it……it vill strt wrkin………

Even i also had a same problem after format a player its working good. Format your player and put songs again. thats it.

    Notes:

    * Formatting is only available when the player does not playback.
    * If the OPR lamp lights red due to low remaining battery power, the player cannot be formatted.
    * All data stored on the player will be erased.
    * The Content Transfer software included with the player will also be deleted. If necessary,
download Content Transfer from the customer support web site.

    1. Unite the left and right parts to turn off the player.
    2. Separate the left and right parts.
    3. Press and hold the jog dial for about 15 seconds until the status lamp blinks quickly.
Release the jog dial. The OPR lamp lights red.
    4. Rotate the jog dial within 30 seconds after the OPR lamp lights red.
The status lamp turns off. The OPR lamp lights alternately green and red each time you rotate the jog dial.
    5. Press the jog dial while the OPR lamp lights green.
The OPR lamp blinks green quickly and formatting is executed. When the OPR lamp turns off, formatting is complete. If you press the jog dial while the OPR lamp lights red, or if 30 seconds have passed, formatting will be canceled.

have a nice song for ever…!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what a pile of crap these things are. I’m on my second. Each lasted less than a month. If this is Sony’s excuse for quality control, they need to give their collective heads a shake. Great idea: workout with them but don’t sweat. I rarely buy overpriced Sony stuff anyway, but definitely won’t anymore. There are lots of other brands rated at least as well and cheaper. Sony sucks. At least the sale price was good as everyone seemed to have them on sale. I can only assume now Sony was dumping them. Wish I’d checked on line before I wasted my time buying this product.
