X – Application (Music Player only) or Sonicstage V is only in Japanese. You need a Japanese version of Windows 7. Or get Japanese language pack for Windows 7 to install X – Application (Music Player only) or Sonicstage V. I have a English Windows 7 and I use Japanese language pack for installing the X – Application (Music Player only) or Sonicstage V to my pc.

I have a Sony Mini Disc Player that uses Sonicstage, work on my old computer but not with my new laptop that has windows 7.
Is there a fix or update for this?

Sonicstage in its prime (version 4) wasn’t too bad and I rarely had problems with it. However, Sony’s product strategy shifted away from including Sonicstage with their Walkmans and went strictly drag and drop in most areas outside of Japan.

Where can I download SonicStage 5? ATRAC Lossless sounds so much better than Apple or Windows lossless its scary. I have a car stereo that supposedly plays ATRAC as well and a collosal SS library on my pc. Thanks anyone

Connect Player as you all know was a very bad experience.. crashing my computer.. and slow.. it always took a whole morning to trasfer new mp3 to the player and delete some.. so I did it just once in while ..when I had many mo3s to add and a day off.
afterwards, as I hear of Sonic Stage, I was relieved.. downloaded it immediately.. just to discover I couldn't update my player anylonger!!!! A whole day now to update the player with the new songs is no more enough.. I bought a new computer and 12 hours of crashes are no sufficient to get what I want.. what I want is not that much actually..
all I got at the end of the day after all my efforces is to have all my mp3 doubled on the player and no more space available to add anything else..
very good!
i'm so sorry because the hardware is quite good and very beautiful.. but the software.. really doesn't worth the purchase.. I won't never buy a Sony reader again.. and I will inform the others not to do so.
I have the 4.3 version.. IM-POS-SI-BLE
