Next SE XPERIA to Run on Android
Danish site devoted to mobile phones has uncovered some internal Sony Ericsson document that revealed potentially 2nd generation XPERIA phone running on Android code named Rachel. It looks like SE statement about waiting to adopt Google’s OS made the company look kinda silly as the waiting game would only put the phone maker behind while other competitors are already pushing it in full swing.
Anyways, here are some interesting tid bits about this upcoming phone:

Sony Ericsson ”Rachael” is the codename of the Swedes’ first Android-based mobile phone, that is expected to be announced later this year. It will be part of Sony Ericsson’s series of XPERIA products. We’ve got our hands on internal documents about the phone, that seems to have the potential to be a sales success.
The phone is based on the Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon platform, that enables processor speeds up to 1 GHz, and HSPA-speeds up to 7.2 Mbps. This platform will also sport great 3D graphics capabilities.
The phone’s built-in camera is an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus. There’s also a 3.5 mm jack connector as well as a mini-USB connector at the top of the phone. The touch screen seems to be quite large, but as of yet there is no specific information about its size.
Looks pretty promising, would not you say so? I somewhat like its new body and hope it is not the one that was previously rumored. It is just missing an OLED display to be a killer phone….
If it does not come with OLED, then this will be a bad move on SE's part. The standard audio jack is a nice touch and highly welcome, hopefully it will be offered with microSD. I just hope SE releases this sooner rather than later, and not get stuck without a carrier or delays as was with the old Xperia.
I really like the design. I hope they launch this thing fast unlike its predecessor.

Google Android on XPERIA 2? I'll buy that. Windows Mobile is what ruined my X1 for me, personally I think it is the most non-user friendly phone I have ever owned, but great in design (the keyboard and high-res screen I love so much) :
But hmm, now I got a hard choice, X2 or Satio? lol
I would love to see a OLED on one of them, I doupt it as we would of heard something by now, but would be a great idea for battery life and contrast.
Finally! The Android phone I have been waiting for. I'm really looking forward to switching to Android!

I love my X1, but here is the problem, why does this phone look like some kinda mixed up hybrid of other companies' phones????? what happened to SONY lately? the design department is having a huge problem. first PSPgo, then this?
nothing wrong with the design, it's a good looking phone, but the issue is, it's not SONY like. one of the reasons why I buy EVERTYING SONY is so I can simply tell ppl “it's a SONY, like.no.other”, but I certainly won't be able to do so with this phone, I'll still get it regardless cuz “it's a SONY”, but I dont' know how much I'll be able to defend the design, at least with the X1, I can tell ppl to F off, cuz my phone is better looking than all of their phones combined!
p.s. why is everyone so excited about Android? I know SONY is going to base the phone on the 2.0, but if it's anything like the N97, I say stick with WM then.
ppl should just chill, different system works for different ppl, all of them are good AND bad, saying WM bad is like saying Sonic Stage is bad, just cuz u have a prblem with it, doesnt mean it's no good. Sure it could be better, but I just don't wanna see something as Shitty as the N97 OS. pure garbage. that's why I diss Nokia – stupid software with fugly design. oh u know why I hate Samsung, twisted menu design with logic only monkeys would understand. whoever likes Samsung's menu deisgn r from Mars or ppl who never used SE phones.
