VGP-BMS10/S Replacement Program

Sony Japan has recently issued a replacement program for the mouse we have reviewed (VGP-BMS10/S) and Sony USA has followed up as well.

Sony has identified a quality issue with the VGP-BMS10/S Bluetooth Mouse. When inserting batteries into the mouse, a battery terminal of the mouse can break which may cause the mouse to stop working, and under limited circumstances, cause the mouse to overheat. We are contacting customers to request that they stop using the mouse and remove the batteries.

Sony will send a return shipping container along with shipping label to return the VGP-BMS10/S. Once your mouse is received, an improved VGP-BMS10/S will be shipped when available (expected early October). The replacement product will be provided at no charge.

    I bought one of these three weeks ago in conjuction with my new Z series laptop – laptop is nice, the mouse is a miserable piece of crap – constantly disconnecting – and I then have to re-install it….POS

    I have the same problem… disconnects every few hours or so… sometimes more often. I have found restarting Bluetooth and then restarting the mouse works, without re-installing. However, it's extremely annoying… and just not good enough.

    The Z-serises computer I bought to use this mouse on is a nice machine….made in the US. The Chinese made mouse lives up to the Made in China standard – that is to say, “let the end-user test for quality defects”

    Same problem for me… Sony Vaio Z laptop is great. But the mouse randomly disconnects and takes a re-install sometimes to get it working again.. VERY Disappointing for an expensive mouse!!
