The new Sony Ericsson S312 offers a snapshot imaging experience, featuring a 2.0 megapixel camera with horizontal UI, illuminated imaging shortcuts on the keypad, dedicated video camera key, easy picture blogging and image optimization with Photo fix. In addition to offering a media player, TrackID track recognition service and FM radio, the S312 supports 3D gaming on a two inch scratch-resistant 262,144 color TFT screen.

The S312 phone also includes 15MB internal memory, Memory Stick Micro (M2) removable storage compatibility, Bluetooth and HTML browser. Talk time GSM/GPRS/EDGE is up 8 hrs, with standby time for GSM/GPRS/EDGE up to 400 hrs. The S312 supports GSM/GPRS/EDGE/900/1800 and will be available in selected markets from Q2 in the colors Dawn Blue and Honey Silver.

Sony Ericsson also introduced a Clip-on Bluetooth Handsfree VH300 – an easy to use headset with rich sound. The stylish handsfree features one-touch call handling, handy volume control and an ultra discreet reversible clip-on which will match any outfit. Talk and stand-by time  for the VH300 averages 10h talk /250h standby. The Clip-on Bluetooth Handsfree VH300 will be available on selected markets from Q3 2009.

SOCOM: Confrontation, which is arriving on September 16th, 2008, will include the above bluetooth headset for online communication.  Featuring a USB-powered charging stand, the device will glow red around the circle and the status light on the power button should be blue. Two volume buttons, a mute button and the power button are located in convienant locations on the earpiece for easy operation. Syncing will most likely be done by holding down the power button for 5-10 seconds. The headset is rumored to be priced around $59.99USD when is sold seperately, which Sony Insider is unsure of if it will be for sale before or after the game release date.

Sony Ericsson is on fire today, and to compliment the slew of handset news, three additional bluetooth earpieces were announced as well. With eleven hours of talk time and eight hundred hours standby, this should be a good solution for those who aren’t too keen on the Jawbone or the usual standard Motorola offerings. The HBH-PV720 differs from the others introduced today as the user is able to change its appearance via the 3 elegant Style-up™ covers with black and silver patterns. Sony Insider finds the HBH-PV740 the most favorable out of the line up, as it has a small status screen that displays battery life and connection status, something we hope to see integrated into all models eventually. Sony Japan has announced the addition of two new bluetooth enabled models to its headphone lineup, available on 21st July in Japan (a possible release date for other markets has yet to be confirmed). The DR-BT140QP (shown above) is available in four colors (Black, White, Gray and Pink) and in addition to regular audio can also receive 1Seg audio. The DR-BT140Q (below) on the other hand comes in just two colors (Black or White).

 

The common specification for both models is as follows:

• Frequency Response – 16hz-24khz (20hz-20khz over Bluetooth)
• Bluetooth Version – 2.0+EDR
• Profile Support – A2DP/AVRCP/HFP/HSP
• Weight – 53g

Both models have a built-in Li-Ion battery, good for 12 hours of continuous listening. They also feature an “anti-tangle device” to prevent the neck cord from becoming twisted.
