A tipster has informed the website BoyGeniusReport (a personal favorite of mine) about the release date of the highly-anticipated Windows Mobile phone by Sony – the XPERIA X1. Known officially in the USA as the XPERIA X1a, it will go on sale (fully unlocked) around December 7th for a whopping $799. Fortunately, most consumers who will have this device will purchase it through a subscriber, such as AT&T, and pay far less. However, there is a market out there for unlocked phones and I imagine that this item will see a few sales. At $799 in a recessed economy however, we wonder how many sales it will actually see.
